Some light, colours and joy from Morocco
Arts, travels, new friendships and beauty... A replenished soul hopes to share some of the good vibes!
Dear readers,
Despite the turmoils of world affairs this past month, I took a few days to accept an invitation to travel in a place of beauty and creativity.
Photos by myself…
For my podcast, ‘Spotlight on Africa’, I travelled to Marrakesh, in Morocco, where I attend the 1:54 contemporary African art fair in its Moroccan edition, launched in 2018 in the iconic venue La Mamounia.
The fair launched its London edition in 2013 and its New York City one in 2015.
With a series of guests, we discussed how Morocco became the ideal platform to link the continent and the rest of the world.
Our guests this week:
-Touria El Glaoui, founder and director of the 1:54 contemporary African art fair;
-Mous Lamrabat, Moroccan-Belgian artist;
-Yasmine Berrada, co-founder of the Loft art gallery.

MACAAL reopening:
Marrakesh’s light and its people energy were great inspiration for this new month.
Meanwhile, the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is on my mind, and I’m working on a new article…
More soon.
Thanks for reading, caring and, if you can, for listening.
As always, feedback and reposts are welcome.
Speak soon,
melissa
